Mission & Legacy

The Will Golden Memorial Fund is established to honor the young life and memory of Willem Golden and is committed to furthering the cause of individuals and organizations whose work and purpose reflects Will’s passion for athletics, family, education and protecting and supporting the well being of others.

As of 9/1/2023, the WHG Memorial has donated $200,000 in scholarships and grants.

 

Below, please find photos of Caitlin McCarthy with her dog Josie. The Will Golden Memorial Fund in conjunction with the Kate Phalon McCarthy Memorial Fund helped to secure a dog for Caitlin McCarthy and her family through GOFI. Caitlin was diagnosed at the age of one with Mitochondrial disease and with Rett Syndrome when she was five years old. Josie is a beautiful one year old Golden who has been working this past year to attain her service status. Her devotion, love and hard work has endeared her to Caitlin and the entire family.

Sadly, Caitlin passed away after a courageous life on March 6, 2020 with Josie by her side. Josie continues to provide support and love for the McCarthy family and other children in the Walpole community.

 

To date, the Will Golden Memorial Fund has made contributions to the following charities for embodying the values and spirit that guided his life.
